Speaks To Me Sunday #68

16 Oct

I don’t even know what to say.

I am so thankful for the love of my mom and dad. I am so grateful God gave me two amazing humans who have dedicated so much of their lives to my wellbeing and happiness. Even now when I’m so many miles away – they are still ere for me. When I really stop and think of it, I am overwhelmed. And completely humbled. I am so loved.

Hey Mom and Dad, thank you. From the bottom of my heart,  I love you too!

(Also, aren’t handwritten cards the best?)

Favorite Five Friday (130th Edition)

4 Dec

Oh, Friday… Here again! I didn’t get around to posting last week so this will be my favorites from the last two weeks. 😉 Check it out…

1.  My parents came to visit! We had such a relaxing and joy filled time with them while they were here. I loved getting to share some of our favorite restaurants with them, going to Disneyland, introducing them to some of our friends, and taking them on my VIP tour at Universal. It was a really special visit that I’ll always treasure.
2.  Thanksgiving! I have so many wonderful things to be thankful for. I worked on the day, but I got to bring my folks with me. It was a fantastic way to spend the day. I also felt like there had to be some sort of Thanksgiving dinner so I put one together in the crock pot. It turned out to be delicious! I cooked my first turkey, and I feel so proud. I felt so grateful all day long… I want to carry that attitude with me every day of the year.

3.  It’s December! Time to deck the halls. I like to put up our tree as soon as possible so we can have it the maximum amount of time without being ridiculous. We have a tradition of getting a real tree. That made me a little more nervous this year with out kitties, but we went for it. We picked out our tree and decorated while watching The Muppet Christmas Carol (another tradition). It always gets me in the holiday spirit! So far the cats have only knocked down a couple of ornaments, but nothing is broken and the tree is still standing. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Bring on the holidays!  4.  We celebrated my mom’s birthday this week! I am so thankful she was born and for the woman that she is. I’ll tell anyone who asks that she is Practically Perfect In Every Way. I love you, mom, and I love being your daughter. Happy Birthday!

5.  Date night! Movie night! Love getting together with our buds and heading to the movies. It makes me so happy to have a group of friends to share my life with. Add in an awesome movie (We saw Spotlight – it was fantastic and heartbreaking.) and you can’t go wrong. This is where I would put in #winning if I was a different person. (I’m cracking myself up.)

Happy Weekend one and all!
